“Chemistry Eases the Pain” is a Crowdfunding Success!

New movie draws audience and industry support

SAN FRANCISCO (Friday, March 1st, 2019) — Director Shine Louise Houston of Pink & White Productions celebrates a successful crowdfunding campaign for her forthcoming adult film, Chemistry Eases the Pain. The campaign raising a total of $24,416, and marked the second time Pink & White incorporated crowdfunding in its production efforts, following its first independently-produced feature film SNAPSHOT in 2015.

The company is attracted to crowdfunding because it quickly generates a budget for larger film projects while retaining her artistic control and ownership. Campaigns attract pre-orders and perform double-duty as promotion, gaining press traction and teasing film festival excitement. It also connects Houston directly with her audience base and develops relationships within a global network of sexuality experts and adult entertainment artists, including other indie creators.

Backer rewards were donated from sponsors like sex toy stores Good Vibrations, Self Serve Toys, Early to Bed, The Smitten Kitten, She Bop, Feelmore, and Australian toy store Nikki Darling; toy makers Crystal Delights, Cherry Bombin’ Wear, OYXD Creations, ASLAN Leather, Stockroom, and New York Toy Collective; LGBTQ company Play Out Underwear; film festivals Cinekink NYC; and a sex education e-courses from The Center for Sexual Pleasure & Health and books Oh Joy Sex Toy’s Drawn to SexComing Out Like a Porn StarA Taste for Brown Sugar: Black Women in PornographySisters in the Life: A History of Out African American Lesbian Media Makers. Match donors jessica drake and Wicked Sensual Care, Austin Law Group, HotMovies.com, BrightDesire.com, Erika Lust, and GoodForHer.com pledged to match donations dollar-for-dollar. Combined, over 300 backers brought the campaign to 106% over its goal.

With funding secured, the film will go into production this May in San Francisco. The campaign is now in IN-Demand, allowing those who have missed the deadline to donate for early access to watch the movie, to add their name to the credits, and other backer rewards before the film premieres in March of 2020.
